Emerging in the early ’90s, trip-hop etched out a new niche between hip-hop, electronica, dub and soul. With magnetic hooks and hypnotic, dark and suggestive melodic layers, it slowed tempos down and put cinematic atmosphere at center stage, expanding on its roots in boom-bap and dub-infused grooves.
For this EZkeys MIDI pack, we explored each dimly lit corner of the genre to create a collection that captures a cross section of its signature traits.
