When it came to migrating The Glasgow School of Art's home from Glasgow's southside to the City Centre, they turned to Mediaspec. The move involved relocating much of their existing equipment while integrating some new kit.
As an education institution that enjoys an excellent reputation for the study of Sound for the Moving Image, it was key that the sound studios met the task. Genelec was the obvious fit for equipping the three key spaces: a Dolby Atmos room, a Surround Sound room, and a spatial audio Soundlab.
Eric Joseph, Managing Director at Mediaspec, said: "This was a real collaboration from start to finish, working closely with GSA and Genelec to make sure the new studios matched the standard their students and staff have come to expect. Projects like this are a labour of love for us, there's a lot of care that goes into getting spaces like this right, and it's fantastic to see them up and running."
Genelec have put together a fascinating case study on the project, with some good behind-the-scenes detail on how the install came together. Mediaspec is proud to have played its part.
